It appears that news is starting to spread that the Adam and Eve is (hopefully) going to undergo a change and a re-opening in the not too distant future, as two very nice chaps from the Mill Hill Times came down to the pub yesterday to do a piece on the current status.
Alex and his photographer Pete supported the idea of a more community based pub for Mill Hill Village and agreed that the area was in desperate need of what we were describing. They even chipped in with some helpful ideas of their own, on how the local community might get involved.
Particularly interesting might be a sort of group workshop on what the Adam and Eve might look and feel like once refurbished - asking locals what and how they might like to see in the space. Would there be a need for a family function room on the first floor and seperate from the ground floor space - perhaps ideal for family gatherings.
We also hear that the well-known and locally iconic sign that used to hang outside the Adam and Eve is still around - in fact it is rumoured that the original sign is actually the sign that currently hangs there - it's just that it's been over-painted with black gloss.
Anyway, the guys from the Times are interested in following the progress of works and the continuing saga of our difficulties with the Pubco, and have pledged to re-visit regularly. Thanks guys!
