Single Storey Rear Extension

Those that came to the open evening last Thursday at the Adam and Eve would probably have noticed the display about our proposed single storey rear extension. For those that couldn't make it, here's a brief summary of what we are suggesting:

As you can see from the image we are proposing a small extension that will not detract from the original property or its setting either in design or scale, with the proposed materials matching those of the existing building. The largely glazed doors will open out completely in nice weather offering an additional dining/drinking area looking out on to the beautiful garden. The new addition will have exposed oak beams internally and will be faced with aged oak and will, in some ways, be reminiscient of a barn out-house, similar to those that would have been on site when the Adam and Eve (or in those days simply, 'The Eve') used to serve as a coaching inn.

The extension will be located on the area of hardstanding (the paved area) to the rear of the pub, and will be linked to the main building - so access will either be through the existing or through the garden.

We would welcome any feedback or comments on these proposals.
